Zu den wichtigsten Wahlkampfspendern Obamas gehörten Großbanken, deren Wachstum und Tätigkeiten Obama jetzt einschränken will: Insgesamt erhielt Kandidat Obama für seinen Wahlkampf nach Angaben des überparteilichen „Center for Responsive Politics“ mehr als sechs Millionen Dollar von Wall-Street-Großbanken,fast eine halbe Million Dollar allein von Goldman Sachs ......
....Zwar bekräftigte Obama bei einem „Bürgertreffen“ in der Kleinstadt Elyria (Ohio), wo er am Freitag ganz im Stile des Wahlkämpfers auftrat, er werde sich auch weiter für die Reform des Gesundheitswesens einsetzen: „Ich höre jetzt nicht auf, nur weil es schwierig ist.“ Doch vor allem versprach er, auch künftig über nichts anderes so intensiv nachzudenken als darüber, „wie wir Arbeitsplätze schaffen können“. „Ich werde nicht aufhören, für euch zu kämpfen“, rief Obama seinen Zuhörern zu. Seine Rede klang wie die eines Gewerkschaftsführers. Und Populisten.

Die Offensive des US-Präsidenten war beeindruckend. Aber war sie auch mehr als ein PR-Gag? Telebörsen-Moderator Frank Meyer hegt berechtigte Zweifel.
Harte Worte von US-Präsident Barack Obama. Er erklärte den Banken den Krieg, will ihre Macht beschränken, ihre Klettergerüste und Karusselle auf den Spielwiesen abbauen lassen. War es ein PR-Gag? Vielleicht. Zumindest sind es Worte, denen irgendwie auch Taten folgen sollten.
Die Wall Street erschreckte sich und knickte vorsorglich erst einmal ein. Weltweit lösten sich die mühsamen Kursgewinne der letzten Wochen in Luft auf. Es wäre töricht zu glauben, dass die Wall Street tatenlos zuschaut, wenn Obama damit durchkommen möchte. Vielleicht will er das auch gar nicht wirklich, zumindest hat er aber ein massentaugliches Thema,....
Hinter den Kulissen
Obama hält brillante Reden, solange ihn ein Teleprompter dabei unterstützt. Schreibt er seine Reden selbst? Man weiß es nicht, zu vermuten wäre, dass Einflüsterer hinter dem mächtigsten Mann der Welt stehen. Obama ist das Sprachrohr derer, die ihn unterstützen. Und man soll keine Hand schlagen, die einen füttert. Letzte Woche wurde in den USA ein Gesetz verabschiedet, das Spenden an Parteien jetzt in unbegrenzter Höhe erlaubt. Größere Spenden könnten demzufolge auch etwas mehr als bisher bewirken. Es kommt auf den Zweck an.....
