Israeli tanks invade Gaza, meet resistance

Israeli tanks and bulldozers have invaded the eastern border areas of the Gaza Strip, destroying cultivated agricultural Palestinian land.

Palestinian fighters retaliated by firing home-made shells at the invading forces. No injuries were reported from either side in the Thursday attack, the International Middle East Media Center (IMEMC) reported.

Also on Thursday, Israeli naval forces opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats off the coast of the strip, local sources reported.

Ich vermute, dass Israel ganz gezielt eine Reaktion provozieren will, angesichts der Diskussion um die Siedlungsaktivitäten und dem internationalen Druck hinsichtlich Friedensverhandlungen.
