Zitat:Brazil, Israel Disagree on Iran
Thursday, July 23, 2009
...
Iran poses "a major threat, and not only in the Middle East," the Israeli official added while speaking at a press conference in Brasilia with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Foreign Minister Celso Amorim.
...
"Brazil would like all countries to sign the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty" and hopes for "a Middle East free of nuclear weapons," Amorim added. Israel has not signed the treaty and is widely assumed to possess a nuclear arsenal (Agence France-Presse/Google News, July 22).
"Brazil's constitution prohibits the creation of nuclear weapons and we hope other countries also have nuclear research only for peaceful purposes," Amorim said, according to the Associated Press (Associated Press/Haaretz, July 23).
