Coalition airstrike kills Taliban commander

KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- A coalition airstrike has killed a commander of Taliban forces in southern Afghanistan, the U.S. military said Wednesday.

In a separate incident, U.S.-led coalition forces killed and wounded Afghan National Army soldiers in eastern Afghanistan early Wednesday, Afghan and U.S. authorities said.
