Eight dead in Algeria car bombing

ALGIERS, Algeria (AP) -- Explosives packed into a vehicle detonated outside a police station in northern Algeria, killing eight civilians and wounding eight others, the national radio said Sunday.

An officer fired on the vehicle as it was approaching the police station in Zemmouri, on Saturday night, causing the car to explode before it hit the building, the radio report said, citing security officials.
