US tourist killed in Iran quake

Bam, Dec 28 - A US tourist was killed and his wife wounded in the massive earthquake that hit southeastern Iran, medics and friends of the couple said Sunday.
Hospital sources named the dead American as Todd Delloro and his wife as Adele Freedman.
"They had travelled to Bam to visit this historic region. The tour operator booked them a room in a recently built hotel in the city," a friend of the couple said.
"But they chose instead to stay in an unmodernized hotel in the city's old quarter to enjoy the historic surroundings. When the quake struck, he pushed his wife under the bed, but he himself died under the rubble.", his friend said
