Taiwan hat .... den Prototyp einer neuen Anti-Schifss-Rakete erfolgreich getestet. ....
Ein Text mit der Rakete Hsiung Feng III habe im vergagenen Monat statt gefunden. Die Rakete, die eine Reichweite bis 200 km haben soll, sei von einer Militärbasis un Südosten der Insel abgeschossen worden.....

Damit werden amphibische Bedrohungen durch die PLAN deutlich erschwert.

Taiwan test fires anti-ship cruise missile

Taiwan achieved a breakthrough in its efforts to develop counter-strike capabilities against China, successfully testing an anti-ship cruise missile with sufficient range to reach the coast of the mainland.


The military fired the 300km-range Hsiung Feng III from Chiupeng missile base in southeastern Pingtung county in a series of tests in late November and early December, members of the legislature’s defence committee said on Friday, confirming a local news report.

Hervorzuheben ist die hier höher angegebene Reichweite von sogar 300 km. An anderer Stelle las ich, dass die CM auch überschallfähig wäre, kann aber derzeit keinen klaren Beleg finden (Zeit ist auch etwas knapp gerade). In jedem Fall hat China hier ein klares Problem, sofern die CM in brauchbaren Stückzahlen verfügbar wird.

Taiwan has successfully test-fired its Hsiung Feng III supersonic anti-ship missile in a major military technology breakthrough expected to beef up the island's defense capabilities against rival China, it was reported here last Friday.

The Taipei-based China Times cited defense sources as saying the military-run Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology had conducted "more than one" test-firing for the new missile after a decade-long development.

It said the first test was held in November in southern Taiwan, following several failures in the past two years due to engine problems.

Hsiung Feng III is believed to outperform China's Russia-made SS-N-22 Sunburn supersonic anti-ship missile, the report said.

It said the missile, with a range of 300 kilometers (186 miles), was likely to be deployed along Taiwan's eastern coast or offshore islands.
